Carrying on Clevelands professional hockey history, which dates back to 1929, the Cleveland Lumberjacks carved up Richfield Coliseum and Gund Arena for nine seasons between 1992 and 2001 as part of the International Hockey League (IHL). Moving from Muskegon, Michigan, where the Lumberjacks won two league titles and began their tradition of taking rivalsto the woodshed, the Jacksmade the playoffs seven of their nine seasons in Cleveland.
